Support Bea's Medical Journey

Hi, my name is Alexis and I am raising money for medical bills for Tyler’s (and my) doggy girl’s medical bills. On May 17 Bea started walking really stiff seemingly out of nowhere, wouldn’t jump up on the bed, couldn’t go up the stairs, and by the end of the day wasn’t using her back legs at all. For the next week it was like she was completely paralyzed from the waist down. After a couple vet visits and a couple pet hospital visits, she was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). It occurs when the cushioning discs between the vertebrae in the spinal column bulge or burst into the spinal cord - when they did the MRI, they saw that this has happened three times with her, but this most recent one was what caused the pain and the immobility. After the MRI and some consultation, the doctor ruled out surgery due to it being a concussive injury (impact/trauma) of the spinal cord/discs which is not responsive to surgical treatment they way a compressive (sqeezing/pressure) injury would be. That being said: at this point the best option for us is medical management and physical therapy. The MRI bill is the heftiest, and while we are thankful that it’s not larger due to the surgery, it’s still much more than we can handle on our own, and the PT will add up very quickly.

We love our baby, and we will do anything to make sure she’s happy and comfortable, we just need a little help. With a trip and a move both coming in just the next three weeks, we were already tight on the cash.
