Support Becca's Fight in the ICU

Friends of the Southampton County community I come to you asking not only to help alleviate the financial burden of Becca’s family but most importantly your prayers for Becca and her family. Becca is 15 years old and attends Rock Church School here in Franklin. While attending a convention for school in West Virginia Becca became extremely ill and had to be taken to the hospital, she was later transferred to the children’s hospital and is currently in the ICU while the staff is working hard to try to find out what is wrong and the best treatment to get Becca well.

While some of you may not personally know Becca or her family. I am a witness to the selfless love and dedication of her mother Shannon Vaughan Bradshaw. Shannon is one of the most caring people and has the biggest heart.

While we don’t know at this time what exactly is wrong, we do know Becca will be in the hospital the next few days. If you can not give please share and pray for this family.

From Becca’s Aunt

Becca is really uncomfortable, is really tired of feeling like this and just wants to go home...hard to hear and hard to see... BUT the good in that is that she's more aware. When we first got here she was just SICK! Now she's more aware of her surroundings, which is a great sign. Her blood pressure is maintaining well, her kidney and liver functions are slowly improving, the fever is mostly gone, she's producing urine well, and they're actually going to let her try some clear liquids/jello...ALL good things!! Slowly moving in the right direction...Doctor just got here, so more news later...

I just wanted to take a minute and Thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, texts, calls, I’m in awe of all the love and support for Becca and our family! We are truly so very grateful!!

We finally have some answers! After two attempts they were able to successfully do a lumbar puncture and get fluid.

Becca does have an infection in her spinal fluid. Now to find out exactly what it is.

She is up in bed eating a popsicle!

God is so faithful!

Update 4/11

From Grandma-

Dear Friends! I guess it’s about time for an update. I’ll start by asking that you please continue to pray for our Darling Becca Boo! She has gone - and will be continuing to go through - so much here in WV…but WHAT a Rock Star! There is some good news - when she got to this hospital, Becca’s liver and kidneys were failing. At this point, her levels are slowly moving in the right direction - a HUGE blessing! We know she is suffering from a severe infection, and we know 100s of things it’s NOT - just not what it IS…yet, but Doc says we’re getting closer. Becca is resting as comfotably as you can when having to be closely monitored. She actually ate a popsicle and some mac & cheese yesterday. So lots of positives…and we hold on to those…Unfortunately, not all the news is great. Becca has been critically ill, and that takes its toll. She has, unfortunately, developed an underlying heart condition due to the severity of her condition. It IS treatable, and this team is phenomenal, but we have been granted an extended stay in our truly awesome medical hotel! Please continue to pray - for the doctors to find much needed answers, for the meds to be effective, for her organs - particularly her heart - to continue to strengthen, and that she soon gets to where she needs to be - because she really just wants to be home. We have been feeling all the love and all the prayers and we can’t thank you - each and every one of you - for the support…sending love and hugs ❤️❤️ To Be Continued
