Support Becky Vaillancourt's Battle with Glioblastoma
Donation protected
As some of you know about a year and a half ago our dear friend Becky Vaillancourt had a fall at work. our resource nurse Kate was concerned that she might be having a stroke due to her symptoms. She told her to go see her doctor and be evaluated. Becky had imaging done and a biopsy of a tumor that they found in her brain which revealed glioblastoma. For those of us who are nurses we know that is a devastating diagnosis. Despite this, Becky's optimism has been inspiring. Over the past year and a half through surgery, radiation and chemotherapy Becky has shown courage second to none. She has daily given inspiration to us all through her faith and hope. It appeared that her cancer was under control. But recently, Becky's diagnosis has worsened. the cancer has returned along with numerous symptoms that go along with a cancer diagnosis. In an effort to help Becky and her family through this devastating time we are asking for your help.
Becky has worked at the Elliot Hospital for many years as well as Parkland Medical Center. I personally worked with her on CICU, in the ICU, and endoscopy. Becky graduated from Nurse practitioner school about a year before her diagnosis and was working with our gastroenterology department as a NP.
Becky has always been there for others, as a resource and a true friend. She never hesitates to provide words of love, affirmation and positivity to all those around her. She needs us as she focuses on spending her final time with her family and loved ones. even if you cannot donate, please share for Becky.
We will provide updates as they come and share your comments with Becky.
With love,
All of us who adore Becky
Becky has been moved to The High Point House in Haverhill MA. She has a room where her family and friends can visit any time. However she seems exhausted, but comfortable, on a zero to ten pain scale she said 2. Russ and her friend Kara where there when I visited. The nursing care seems wonderful. She really appreciated my visit. Let's support Becky and her family during this very difficult time
