Support Ben & Jackie through Recovery
Donation protected
Hi friends,
As you may know, Ben has recently undergone brain surgery.
Here’s how it all unfolded: Last Friday, Jackie woke to find Ben unresponsive. He was quickly airlifted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and placed in an induced coma. There, doctors discovered bleeding and swelling in his brain, which was putting pressure on his brain stem and optic nerve.
Emergency brain surgery was performed to address the bleeding, remove the dead brain tissue, and relieve the pressure.
The surgery was a success, and in just a few days, Ben has regained much of his function —far exceeding the expectations of his surgeon. Jackie says that Ben is back to being smarter than her!
Though the outcome has been remarkable, there’s still a long road to recovery ahead. Both Ben and Jackie are self-employed, and Jackie has faced her own health challenges recently, with an heart problem and other chronic conditions, which Ben has steadfastly supported her through.
The next few months will be financially difficult. On top of medical bills and daily necessities for Will, Evie and Maya, they also need help covering their mortgage during this time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease their burden as they focus on Ben’s healing and Jackie’s continued wellbeing.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Every bit of help makes a world of difference to these wonderful, community minded people!
