Hi, my name is Bernice, and I’m raising funds for my debut show as a Wellness Athlete—a moment that is far bigger than just stepping on stage.

This show is a tribute to my late daughter, NorahLynn, whose 10th birthday in heaven will be the day after I compete. NorahLynn was taken from us in January 2019 at just 3 years old, alongside her big brother Elijah, in a tragic accident that changed our lives forever.

I started bodybuilding to live up to the legacy left behind—one of bravery, courage, and strength in the face of the impossible. This journey became my way of saying, “I will be brave, too. I will be strong, too.”

This show is also my way of telling Leukemia to KISS IT!

I was diagnosed in 2021, just when I was preparing to finally step on stage. My dreams were put on hold. But I never let go of my WHY—my children: NorahLynn Gracie Chavez, Elijah Chavez, and my beautiful daughter EllaMae, who is still with me today and gives me strength daily.

I’ve stopped and started this journey so many times... grief, illness, life—it all hit hard. But I always got back up. And now, I’m here. June 2024 marked my full return to training—not just for myself, but for them.
