Support Berwick Madison Jr.'s Heartfelt Send-Off
Donation protected
This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life, but choices and decisions have been taken away from me. My one and only husband has passed this morning. Berwick Madison, Jr., born 02-15-1952, fought a long hard battle with Parkinson's Disease, but prior to this, he became a Roman Catholic that went through every Rite at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, LA, and joined St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church in Algiers, LA, under the Very Rev. John T. Talamo. I was so proud of him because he would always be one of the first to receive the Eucharist.
My Bert was always the life of the party; he was so handsome. Bert was one of the first mechanics for Firestone that worked on cars with computers, and he was a former nurse's aide in his younger years. He sang and played the guitar and taught our daughter to play the piano.
Friends and family referred to him with several funny nicknames like "Burt Hurt"..."Bervick"..."IG Fat."
Berwick & his lil Brother Bobby were raised in Houma, LA, by a single Mom, Pearl James, & Grandparents Pearl 'Lil Bit' & Sam James.
He married me, Janice Scott, at 22, and we had 5 children: Berwick & Myra Nero, David Scott, & Bobby & Princess Madison. He has a host of family members, friends, and associates that love and adored him.
Before I run out of space and words, I'm asking for a donation of any amount you can possibly give. Of course, we had insurance, but costs have exceeded his policy. I have chosen not to cremate. At one time, this was not a Catholic alternative.
Your donation will be used to give him the warmest, sweetest send-off, a home going to be with God, his Mom, and sweet humble Father Berwick "Duce" Madison, Sr., who will greet him with open arms.
Yes, we had our differences, but I loved him, differences and all... In sickness, in health, for better or for worse. My Dad would tease us, saying "we had that graveyard love"... I guess he was right, huh Bert.
I can't describe my feelings; they're all over the place, and I'm experiencing difficulties making this request to all that read because I got the news less than an hour ago that they were trying to revive him. I feel like a part of me died with him...
Thank you for your ear, donations, and other help you can offer from the bottom of my heart ❤️
