Bessie Bennett's memorial Saturday July 13th Help Family!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of my aunt Bessie Bennett's passing on Saturday, July 6th at 6pm. She lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, deeply committed to her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Bessie often spoke of her longing to return to New York City, where she found solace in the bustling creative community and cherished friendships. Although she ultimately breathed her last breath in Rembert, South Carolina – the final resting place of her parents – being close by to them brought some comfort, I am sure.

My aunt Bessie had expressed her desire for cremation, but unfortunately, her life insurance policy decreased in value when she turned 80, leaving us facing unexpected financial challenges in honoring her wishes. As we come together as family, friends, and community members from various corners of the country – be it New York City, South Carolina, Virginia or elsewhere – we humbly ask for your support during this difficult time. To assist in not only her celebration services being held July 13th but aiding her family.

Tragically, Bessie's son Kenny had already passed away before her. Now it falls upon us to rally around her only daughter and grandchildren who lovingly cared for her. We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and assistance thus far; your kindness has not gone unnoticed.
