Support Beth and Maxley: Home Lost to Palisades Fire
Donation protected
On January 7th, our worst nightmare came true. High winds and raging wildfires forced us to evacuate with very little time to get out safely. In the morning hours of January 8th, my mom, Beth, woke me at 4 a.m. from our evacuation location after receiving ADT alerts of “heat and smoke” in our living room at home. By the time any first responders could get there, my beloved childhood home of 23 years was already engulfed in flames. Everything—from treasured family memories to essential everyday items—was destroyed.
I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Beth, and our dog, Maxley. We managed to evacuate with only a few pieces of clothing, vital documents, and medication. While we are deeply thankful to be safe, we are devastated to start the new year without a place to call home.
My mom is a single parent and my personal superhero. She has faced countless hardships, including my older brother’s battle with cancer at the age of six, and later a difficult divorce where she fought tirelessly to keep our home for my brother and me. Now, after losing that same home to the fire, she faces yet another uphill battle—rebuilding our lives from scratch.
With the uncertainty of insurance timelines and the costs of being displaced, any amount you can give will help my mom take the first steps toward getting back on her feet. Your support will go directly toward temporary housing expenses, replacing essential items, and covering unexpected expenses as she navigates this challenging time.
Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can provide. Your generosity and kindness mean more to us than words can express. We are sending our love and prayers to all other families affected during these challenging times.
