Support Beth's Cozy Sanctuary at Squirrelwood

The paddocks and barns of Squirrelwood have always been more than a Sanctuary for the many animals rescued by Beth and Diane, they’ve been a refuge and safe place for all of us. Through Covid lockdowns, the joy of new babies, the remarkable rescue stories that lift our hearts, and the inevitable losses of some of the critters we’ve all come to love there’s always been time to share the animals and their shenanigans with all of us.

Our dear friend Beth recently lost Diane, her partner of 32 years — her partner in life and in their shared life’s passion: rescuing and caring for the critters at their farm sanctuary in New York, Squirrelwood.

B has always taken time out of her hectic days to share the joys and sorrows, the capers and the wallows, and the noshing of countless cookies with all of us through social media. Beth and Diane gave everything they had to take care of the sanctuary and the herd we’ve fallen in love with. Let’s take care of B now by helping her create a sanctuary for herself.

B has reclaimed a small space in the home she shared with D, but until she has somewhere to sit, she won’t be able to use and enjoy it. Can we help Beth get some cozy seating for her new sanctuary? We’re trying to raise funds as soon as possible so B can get the space ready and find some peace during this difficult time.

100% of your donations will go towards giving B some new spots to curl up with a book or be smothered by loving, pushy pups. The goal includes a living room set including a sofa, loveseat, and armchair along with any taxes, delivery, and accessories like blankets for the Boxers to steal.

This fundraiser is organized by several friends of Squirrelwood, and donations will be handled by a volunteer who will purchase the furniture Beth has chosen for her cozy new space, and ensure it is delivered to SES where Wiggles will choose the tallest cushion as her new throne.
