Support Betty Govan's Dignified Farewell
Donation protected
On July 12, 2024 the people who were responsible for my sister's (Betty Govan) care, had her removed from her Brooklyn home against her will and sent to a pyschiatric hospital far away from her home "because her pressure was up".
By the next morning, the hospital released her with a MetroCard. She didn't know how to travel by mass transit. She never made it home.
Three weeks later, her body was found in a park in Brooklyn, NY. Far from the hospital and even further from her home. For five weeks, her unidentified body remained at the city morgue. No one looked for her. There was no real investigation into her missing. It was only after I discovered a photo of her remains on a unidentified deceased website, that I worked with the medical examiner to identify her. I gave the medical examiner information to get a copy of my sister's (Betty) dental records.
On September 20, 2024, the medical examiner called me to confirm that yes, it was my sister.
In life, my sister never got her "flowers". But in her untimely death, my mother and I ask for your kindness, compassion and generosity in helping us give her her "flowers" by helping us pay for a dignified funeral and to allow us to say goodbye. With your help in funding her going home service, I can put all of my attention into getting justice for my sister. My sister, Betty Govan life mattered.
My mother and I thank you all in advance.
