Beverley's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected

Dear Family and Friends,

It is with great sadness to inform you that my sweet & loving mother, Beverley, was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, stage 4 metastatic, HER2+. This is an inflammatory cell that is extremely aggressive. As you can imagine, she means the world to me, and this has turned our lives upside down.

To date, she suffers with cancer pain, severe headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, memory loss, dehydration, brain fog, extreme fatigue, skin rashes, bone pain, digestive issues, as well as cracking, bleeding skin. These symptoms change daily, leaving her exhausted and unable to take care of herself.

She has a very long road ahead of her, including 6 rounds of chemo, lab work, doctor visits, double mastectomy, 30 rounds of radiation, tests, and follow-ups for 5 years. The extensive, tolling process has just begun. Recovery from surgery will require nurse care for 2-4 weeks. The cancer has also metastasized to her pancreas and other areas of her body.

Due to her health condition, she is unable to work, adding financial strain to an already challenging time. The cost of treatments, co-pays, transportation, medications, at home care, and so much more will be a huge uphill battle for her, along with the normal day to day cost of living.

I am reaching out to our community and loved ones with the hope that you can help alleviate the financial burden she is facing. Your donation will help provide her with the best possible care and support as she navigates through this long, difficult journey. Every contribution will be a beacon of light, reminding her that she is not alone. Please help us fill her journey with the same hope, optimism, and love that she has always shown us.

Thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Together, we can help her beat cancer so she can continue to be the incredible mother, grandmother, friend, and inspiration that she has been to all of us.

7-5-24 UPDATE: My mom has finished her 6 rounds of chemo. She is now starting her cancer therapy medication (Herceptin) treatments, which involves hospital visits every 3 weeks through February 2025. Her double mastectomy is scheduled for early August 2024. This procedure will also include the removal of 12 lymphnodes. She will be required to get another CAT scan done, as well as other tests before the surgery. After surgery, she will need 8-12 weeks of radiation 5-6 days each week. The doctors unfortunately also found a few spots on her pancreas and after additional testing it was determined that she currently has stage 3 pancreatic cancer in addition to breast cancer. Once she heals from the mastectomy, the next step will be to start treatment for her pancreas & eventually schedule another surgery to have part of her pancreas removed.

This is devastating news for our family. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers. We ask that you share this fundraiser to your community to help support her. This journey will be very long and we need your help. Please donate. Every donation, small or big, counts and is greatly appreciated. It will help pay her medical bills & alleviate the financial burden during this difficult time, allowing her to focus on getting better. Thank you!
