Support Billy's Family

In August 2023, Dulce Munch, her husband Billy, and their 2-year-old daughter Isabella were visiting family outside of the US when Billy fell ill just prior to his scheduled return home. At this point, they had no idea how serious his symptoms were. By the time he arrived at Huntsville airport, he was blinded by pain and suffering from evidence of internal bleeding. He headed directly to the Emergency Room, not even being able to collect his luggage. Dulce caught her flight home with her toddler daughter a couple of days later, as Billy headed for an emergency surgery to repair a leaking aneurysm that had been medically repaired previously, and a perforated esophagus caused by the graph. Complications from the emergency surgery, which resulted in shower strokes, left Billy in ICU where he has been ever since with clear cognitive reduction and limited response to stimulus. Doctors cannot say what kind of recovery should be expected in the long term, but in the short term, he is not expected to improve significantly and will require skilled nursing care once he progresses enough to engage in any kind of therapy.

Billy had started a new job, and his benefits hadn’t kicked in yet, as of today, the company terminated his contract. As a US Veteran, he will continue to receive medical benefits, but they do not provide for his family.

Dulce has no immediate family in the US and must leave the house they closed last year since they can’t afford it anymore. The hospital where Billy is, is located 92miles from their home. Dulce’s friends and colleagues create this GoFundMe to support Dulce and her daughter in the coming months with housing and necessities, as they try to manage their lives and support Billy. Any amount you can spare will be greatly appreciated during the devastating period.
