Support Birmingham Firefighters Jones and Melton

The BFRS Personnel Relations Committee has decided to provide a space for our fellow concerned brothers and sisters to help the efforts of support for our brothers. On Wednesday July 12, 2023 a shooting occurred at Birmingham fire station #9 leaving 2 of our firefighter brothers fighting for their lives. Sadly Firefighter Melton lost his life on 7-17-2023. We morn his passing along with his family as he was and will always be a beloved part of our fire family. Firefighters Jones still has a long road to recovery from his injuries. As a fire family we stand with our fire family in prayer and healing. As one firefighter has lost is life and another has a journey to recovery we opened a platform for donations to help with recovery and whatever the families may need in this time of tragedy. We humbly ask you to consider this when making your donation. Imagine calling 911 and rescue personnel shows up to help you in your time of need. Every day we show up to answer the call. Instantly in a stroke of violence it’s now the firefighter that needs you. This is what has happened to our brothers of Birmingham Fire and Rescue. In this one day our lives were riveted but never as much as the two brothers that suffered at the hands of an unknown shooter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of our brothers.
