Support Black Business Development

A CALL TO ACTION

Pre-COVID, there were more than 1 million formally incorporated Black-owned businesses in the United States according to research from the University of California at Santa Cruz which drew from Census survey estimates. They did not fare well through the pandemic; approximately 440,000 of them are now permanently shuttered. This is a 41% decrease in Black-owned businesses and is 3 times the rate of White-owned business closures in the same time period. It is important to note that this data does not include the impact to smaller mom and pop businesses that are not formally incorporated, a significantly larger business community.  The National Black Business Support Corporation calls on you to help us support Black-owned business re-openings and new business openings, existing business expansions and job creation while we provide access to capital and technical assistance to them in the areas of financial literacy, marketing, grant funding and general business operations. NBBSC is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization so your donation is fully tax-deductible. Won’t you help us help the Black-owned business community recover from these devastating times?

About NBBSC
The National Black Business Support Corporation  (NBBSC) provides Technical Assistance, Access To Capital and, through our partnership with the Pan African Cultural Heritage Society, Marketing Assistance to black, disadvantaged and small businesses throughout the nation. NBBSC fosters economic development and job creation through the use of Federal, State and private community-based programs and in coordination with our strategic alliances.

Focusing on economic development and job creation, we were originally founded in 1988 as the Florida Black Business Support Corporation to assist in the growth of Florida’s economy by providing financing and financing assistance to small businesses. Through those efforts, we worked directly with Florida’s small business community, providing technical assistance to business owners in the areas of creating/understanding financial statements, development of Business Plans and marketing, among others. This technical assistance is provided through workshops, one-on-one meetings, and teleconference calls.

After years of planning and preparation, our efforts expanded to a national focus. Currently, the National Black Business Support Corporation offers business financial literacy training, assists our clients in securing access to capital with our funding partners and serves as an experienced and trusted fiduciary to our partners for their programs.

Your support of NBBSC will assist us with the delivery of technical assistance and training to small and micro minority businesses and to provide micro and small business loans to worthy candidates.
