Support Black Mountain Yarn Shop's Recovery

Hi, my name is Sam Fusco. As many of you have heard, Western North Carolina suffered extreme damage from the impact of Hurricane Helene early Friday morning. Many in Asheville and surrounding areas have experienced deep loss, including power, access to food and water, their homes, roads and infrastructure, and loved ones. Our beloved Black Mountain was one of the hardest hit, following Old Fort, Swannanoa, and Marion.

Black Mountain Yarn Shop has been an integral part of the knitting community for many years, founded by Donna and Don Farrow and purchased by Jason and Danni Ertter years ago. Danni and Jason have done a tremendous job continuing the legacy of the shop and building relationships within the community - both locally and across the country.

Currently, there is no way for them to get to the shop - the highway between where they live and Black Mountain is essentially gone. It could potentially be multiple weeks until they will be able to get back in the shop and begin to resume business operations.

As of today, we have received word that both Renee and Amie are safe, and we are so grateful!

As Danni, Jason, Renee, and Amie begin to rebuild from this horrible disaster, my hope is that they do not have to worry about expenses and losing their business until things are stabilized. The goal of this fundraiser is to be able to help with shop expenses and covering payroll for the employees so they can continue to care for themselves and their families during this stressful time.
