Support Blakely Martz as she fights cancer!
Donation protected
Will and Heather Martz live in Danville, PA. They have 4 year old twins, Blakely and Braylon. A few months before the twins second birthday, things took an unexpected turn. Blakely was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She started chemotherapy in April 2021. Blakely had gone through 5 chemo treatments, multiple infections, months in the hospital away from her brother, but by November 2021 she was cancer free! Life was finally back to normal for the Martz family!
Fast forward 2 years…
The twins started preschool in September of 2023. Being introduced to this new environment, frequent illnesses started. Blakely was sick constantly which was a cause for concern. They took her in for testing at Geisinger in Danville. On November 22nd (the day before Thanksgiving), they received a call to come in and see the doctor. They received devastating news. Not only did Blakely have RSV and the flu, her CANCER HAD RETURNED.
Will and Heather had to quickly pack and prepare for a long stay in the hospital. They also had the tough task of telling their son, Braylon, that his twin sister was very sick. Daddy and mommy have to take Blakely to the hospital and he won’t be able to see her or play with her again for a long time. Blakely was admitted that evening to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville to prepare for chemo.
Looking ahead, this round will be very different for them. Doctors will be using a more aggressive chemotherapy. Blakely will also be needing a bone marrow transplant which will need to be done at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Blakely will need to be at CHOP for an entire month for the transplant, then when she is discharged they will need to remain in the Philadelphia area for another month as she will will have appointments multiple times a week.
Blakely is a tough kid who has already proven to be a fighter! But she and her family have a long, tough road ahead. I’ve set up this account to help ease the financial burden they’ll be facing. The Martz family will use any donations to help cover medical bills and travel expenses related to Blakely’s appointments and treatments. Any donation is so greatly appreciated. Please keep Blakely and the Martz family in your prayers. The road ahead won’t be easy, but Blakely WILL beat cancer…again!
