Support for Bob O'Hern's Daughter

Donation protected
On June 25th, 2022, we lost Bob (Robert) O'Hern, doing what he loved at the young age of 67, riding his bike in the Chelan Century Challenge. It was his 12th time riding, out of the 18 years the ride has been held. He and Keazia rode it together two years ago during covid and then was there with him last year for support.   We humbly ask for donations to throw him a Celebration of Life, pay for cremation costs, pay for a storage unit, pay for the care for his cat and financially support his family during this difficult time, as he lived pay check to pay check.

Bob is survived by his daughter Keazia Thomas-O'Hern age 28. His siblings Denny(72) and Ellie (77) and their spouses Margie and Ray. He loved all his Nieces Lindsay and Leah and Nephews Charlie, Pete, Michael, Sean and Jason and all of their kids. Bob was a loving, caring and kind-hearted man that was always there for anyone who needed it, especially for Keazia over the years he was her hero and the very best dad to her. He loved her so much and was so very proud of her.

He lived on Bainbridge Island for the past 21 years. He was a part of the community and everyone who met him said he was kind and friendly.  Whether getting his coffee at Starbucks, listening to live music all over the island, getting a cab at one of his many favorite restaurants and spinning in front of Town and Country for his fundraising causes for bike rides he loved talking to people and being a part of such an amazing community.

He was a member of the Geezers of Fury bike group on Bainbridge Island and enjoyed their Sunday rides and semi monthly highway cleanup. He loved riding his bike especially for causes close to his heart and  that helped others in times of need. Some of the causes that he rode his bike for were Mary Bridge Children's Hospital child abuse intervention department, Chili Hilly which benefits Bainbridge Rotary, Chelan Century Challenge which benefited the Chelan Rotary, Tulip Pedal for Skagit Valley kids bike safety.

He also loved a good cup of coffee, being outdoors in nature, playing the guitar and spending as much time with Keazia and loved ones as possible. He was an amazing fur grandpa to our dog Albus and would spoil him with puppichinos, long walks and toys.

He worked as a videographer,  this amazing career that he was great at spanned more than 40 years and he was looking forward to many more. He was employed by Fremont Studios, Seattle Channel, Microsoft (Mighty Media) and KCTS and many more. He won an Emmy Award for his work with KCTS and Bill Nye. He was also thanked for his amazing work by the Mayor of Seattle. He started his career out at a local television station and had no formal training, but one would never know and was an exceptional videographer and co-worker.

He gave the best hugs, had the best dad jokes and was always always there for family and friends. He loved the outdoors, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and couldn't wait until the next adventure. He was kind, strong, resilient, humble, smart, funny, loving and just the best man and father.

This unexpected loss is sudden and shocking as he is gone much too soon, but we will take care of his daughter and continue his legacy of enjoying  life, especially valuing the little things, loving each other, treating everyone with kindness, making people laugh with silly jokes, giving back to the community and always making sure to live life with as much passion and joy as possible.

A Celebration of Life is planned for the near future and we will provide details as soon as they become available.

Thank you so much for all the kind words and thoughts during this time. Please do not hesitate to send photos, share stories and memories with Keazia. It really helps her during this difficult time.

We please ask for anyone to donate or share this fundraiser. Any support helps and is very much appreciated.
