Support Bob's Journey to Recovery

On Tuesday, February 6, 2024 Bob, loving husband to Heather and devoted father to Caroline and Margo, tragically suffered a debilitating stroke hours after his emergency triple bypass surgery at Lankenau Hospital. He remained in critical condition before waking up from his coma almost two weeks later. Bob spent 5 weeks in the Thoracic Intensive Care Unit before being transferred to Penn Good Shepherd’s Long Term Acute Care Specialty Hospital where he spent 3 weeks getting weened off the tracheotomy.

Bob has spent the last 10 weeks at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital receiving intensive Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapies 7 days a week learning how to talk, eat, stand, and walk again. While Bob has been working so hard and has been making impressive progress, he still has a long road ahead in his recovery. He will be discharged to his home shortly and will continue to receive therapies once he’s at home.

Heather and the girls are looking forward to finally getting him home after 5 very long months! Bob’s needs are many of which most are not covered by insurance, or very little coverage. These include round-the-clock nursing aide care, medical equipment, modifications outside and inside their home, and endless medical bills to name a few.

The out-of-pocket expenses as you might well imagine are overwhelming to Heather and family. While there is no way to tally the expenses currently, costs are expected to be $150,000-$200,000++

Many of you who know Bob, know that he would never want any of this attention or financial support. With that being said, no one could ever have imagined this terrible situation. The outpouring of love, support and prayers for Bob, Heather, Caroline and Margo has truly kept them going.
