Support Boochi’s dental surgery

My cat Boochi recently had a tough morning. When we woke up, we found him wincing his face and using both paws to nervously paw at his mouth. When we looked at his paws, they were soaking wet and slightly tainted by the blood from his gums. After further inspecting his gums, we saw he had extremely swollen gums and some blood in his mouth. We rushed him to urgent care, and during our visit, he began to paw at his mouth again, and then one of his teeth just fell out of his mouth. Vets told us he had severe gingivitis and gingival recession. We took him to multiple veterinary clinics trying to find the best care for him and the most cost-effective option for us. Every vet we saw recommended full, if not partial, removal of the teeth that are causing problems and periodontal disease, indicating he will need extensive cleaning as well.

Through this process, we also found out he is FIV positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and has moderate muscle wasting as well, despite getting adequate calorie and protein intake. The FIV is manageable but means we need to act fast as his immune system is not as well equipped to deal with his problems. Along with his dental surgery, they recommended some meds for him to put on some muscle.

When we received the estimate for Boochi’s dental surgery, my stomach dropped as I don’t know how we could afford to get him the help he needs. The estimate was more than $3000. It has been very stressful trying to work overtime into my partner and I’s schedule, but we’re doing what we can. It has been hard for me to come to terms with realizing we won’t be able to do this alone without accruing debt, which we are trying not to do. I understand nearly nobody has extra funds right now, but if you can, my little family would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
