Brad needs help with medical bills & health

Hello everyone,

My name is Heather Moon-Whinnery, I am reaching out to you on behalf of my husband, Brad Whinnery. Life can often throw unexpected challenges our way, and we are now facing a difficult period in our lives. Brad and I are both artists in the world of photography, deeply involved in the Texas Renaissance world, and living a simple and creative life. We have always been the first to lend a hand to others. Now, we find ourselves in a situation where we need your assistance.

During a time when Brad is working to help his family with his parents, who are dealing with the aftermath of his father's stroke and mother's recent battle with cancer, we received news that could not have cone at a worse time.

At 51 years old, Brad began experiencing numbness in his lips and hands. A medical technician discovered that he had dangerously high blood pressure, which prompted us to visit urgent care. The urgency of the situation became evident when they said he needed to go to the ER.

After several nights in the hospital, numerous visits with specialists, two MRI scans, a CT scan, a spinal tap, and more, the doctors diagnosed Brad with having suffered a stroke and evidence of an older stroke. Additionally, they found three nodules on his thyroid, which are currently undergoing tests to determine if there are further any concerns. The most recent ultrasound shows that it is a 2.5 cm tumor on his thyroid and he is going through further testing on that.

What makes this situation even more challenging is that, at the time of Brad's crisis, we did not have health insurance. As a result, we are now burdened with mounting medical bills that have already reached $62,000 and are continuing to climb. We are doing our best to work with community services to secure some coverage, but we are realizing that we can't do this alone. It is with a heavy heart and humility that I say, "we need to ask for help."

Brad's talent in the field of photography and digital artwork has been a gift. We believe that with your support, he can continue to share his gift with the world.
