Justice for Brandon: Fighting Racial Profiling & Injustice
Donation protected
He survived the crash that took his mother’s life.
Now he’s being accused of causing it — despite hospital records confirming he was not intoxicated.
My name is Melissa, and I’m raising funds for my partner, Brandon (aka Wayne) — a loving father of two teenage boys, a teenage daughter, and a teenage stepson — as we fight a shocking legal nightmare rooted in racial profiling, misinformation, and systemic injustice.
⸻
It started with a false assumption — and a lie on the radio.
Brandon was pulled over in Colorado after dropping off another Black man — a friend — at a hotel. The man had a baby, luggage, and was checking in.
An undercover officer, watching from a distance, radioed in a false claim that they had just witnessed a hand-to-hand drug transaction.
This single, unfounded suspicion triggered a chain of events that upended our family’s entire life.
⸻
⚠️ Followed across jurisdictional lines — for a violation that isn’t even possible.
Brandon was followed by law enforcement after leaving the hotel and pulled over after crossing the jurisdictional line — outside the area where surveillance had taken place.
The stated reason for the stop was a driving violation that is not physically possible to perform at the intersection cited.
From that point on, the system treated Brandon as a criminal — even though he had committed no crime.
⸻
False NCIC report labeled him “violent.”
Once officers ran his name, they were alerted by an inaccurate NCIC report that falsely labeled Brandon as a violent offender who assaults police — a designation that has no basis in reality.
This false profile escalated the response. Two warrants were eventually cited, but law enforcement could not confirm them for hours after his arrest.
⸻
⛓ Held without clarity — then blindsided with a $100K bond.
Brandon was initially released on personal recognizance (PR’d out) — but he was never truly released.
He remained in custody for 14 additional days, during which a new case and fugitive hold appeared.
I agreed to post a $50,000 bond — only for the court to double the amount to $100,000 before it could be processed. He ultimately had to take himself to Texas to face the warrants — where another $45,000 bond was issued.
Total: $145,000 in bond for a man with no convictions and no verified criminal activity.
⸻
Accused of causing his mother’s death.
The Texas warrant refers to a tragic car accident from three years ago, in which Brandon was critically injured and his mother died.
Now, after years of physical and emotional recovery, he’s being accused of causing her death — despite hospital records clearly stating Brandon was not intoxicated.

A father fighting for his family.
Brandon is a devoted father of four teens, three of whom live with us. He is kind, hard-working, and deeply loved. Just as he began to break through generational poverty, this system has devastated our family — emotionally and financially.
We are a biracial family navigating the compounding weight of racial injustice, broken systems, and a growing legal battle that’s threatening to consume us.
Our three boys are growing fast, eating tons, and feeling the strain of seeing their father criminalized.

Why this matters
We have timelines, audio, hospital records, and documentation. This is a story of racial bias, procedural failure, and false labeling.
We’re fighting this not just for our family — but for every family targeted, misrepresented, and punished by a broken system.

Please donate, share, and if you’re in a position of influence — help us bring this story to light.
With gratitude and hope,
Melissa, Brandon, and our four teens
