Thank you for being here and taking the time to support Brandon, Patti and Eddie. All of your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes have supported them as they have faced this most challenging time.
Brandon has been battling ongoing lung issues for several months. Following his lobectomy in August, he did not improve the way we had all hoped and has been off work since then. Despite his health struggles and constant fatigue, he continued to be the best father, husband and friend to all of us. For those of you that know Brandon, you know it takes a lot to hold him down, and he wasn't ready to let that happen.
On November 22, he was readmitted to Sault Area Hospital with ongoing, undiagnosed lung issues. A week later, he was transferred to Ottawa General Hospital for better care. Unfortunately, that hospital could not maintain his oxygen levels, and he was transferred again to the Ottawa Civic. He is currently under the care of the Heart Institute. Brandon has not yet been diagnosed and has been intubated and on ECMO for the past several days while the team works to find the cause.
Brandon's wife Patti has been by his side while his parents, sister and close friends have been caring for Eddie and attending to Brandon's small business and their home. Currently, the team of doctors at the Ottawa Civic remains optimistic that Brandon can and will recover. Still, they are looking at several months in Ottawa while he receives the care he needs.
On behalf of Brandon and his family, we thank you for your messages, calls and words of encouragement as he recovers. We appreciate any and all you can give to assist them with travel expenses, accommodations and extra medical costs.
