Support Brayden's Scoliosis Surgery Journey

I am a friend and prior Coworker of Abbeys and I am organizing this to help out this amazing family who has had quite a medical Journey the last few years I’ve known her! She and her husband always have a smile on their face and are willing to help others! Brayden's Scoliosis Journey started in March of 2023. He had his first rods placed and when we went back in March 2024 he had to have another surgery to extend the rods to his neck. They had his 6-month follow-up in September and were told that he needed a revision surgery as the hardware did not fuse and had the potential of coming out. He will now have his 3rd surgery and have all hardware taken out, and new hardware put in along with rib bone will be placed in his neck for support and a Halo will be placed for recovery. This is not the news his parents wanted but it is what has to happen! Fingers crossed it's his last one. Now for insurance that's a different story Cory and Abbey have to pay 10 percent out of pocket which is a minimum of about $60,000. They have done 3 levels of appeal and have been turned down. They are going to move forward with surgery and make it work as they have a tribe behind them

Cory and Abbey will be off work for some time for surgery and recovery to make sure Bray is taken care of. They have also referred him to get a power chair but we all know how insurance works and I'm sure there will be appeals for that too! Brayden has endured more surgeries in his 16 years than most kiddos and he is never without a smile through the good and bad! His family Thank you for all the love and support!
