Support Brenda After Eaton Canyon Fire

Dear friends, families and members of the community, my name is Mariah Cathcart, I am the granddaughter to Brenda Hiter and I’m coming to you with a heavy heart to ask for help for my grandmother. She is not only my grandma, she is a mother, a sister, an Altadena Native and friend to many. My grandmother built a life and raised multiple generations in her beloved home - a home that recently celebrated its 100th birthday this year.

Sadly her home was destroyed in the recent devastating Eaton Canyon fires that swept through our community rapidly. For her, this was so much than a home, but a cornerstone of her life, a place where we gathered and shared so many memories and laughs.

This isn’t about restoring a home but giving back to a woman who has done so much for those who she loves. I ask that we all come together and assist my grandmother in anyway to help her process her new normal.
