Support Brian Mitchell's Cancer Battle

My name is Brian Mitchell, and I’m reaching out today because my family and I are facing a major challenge.

Recently, I was diagnosed with throat cancer and will need to undergo both chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Unfortunately, this health crisis has already taken a toll on me physically and financially. On top of my cancer diagnosis, an infection in my mouth caused by the disease led to the removal of all my top teeth. As a result, I’m facing significant dental costs, all of which will be out of pocket due to insurance complications.

Despite the diagnosis, I’m determined to continue working as much as possible throughout my treatments. But as you can imagine, the medical and dental bills are piling up, alongside our regular household expenses. Like many families, we've been living paycheck to paycheck, covering essentials like car maintenance and our kids' needs with credit cards when necessary. Now, we’re only a couple of months away from drowning in debt.

The situation has taken an unexpected turn for the worse, with all of my dental work being not being covered due to my work switching providers at the beginning of the year and there being a 1 year waiting period for major dental work. Unfortunately next year this will be considered pre-existing, making future treatment costs even higher. Financing my dental care is our only option, but it’s at a steep interest rate that adds to the burden.

This isn't easy for me to share. I’ve always prided myself on being self-reliant. However, after prayer and guidance from family, friends, and our church community, I’ve realized that now is the time to humbly ask for help—before things spiral further out of control.

What I need more than anything are your prayers for strength and healing. And if you’re able to help us financially, we would be deeply grateful.

Now that we have a better understanding of the cost we are paying out of pocket for my treatments and all the stuff, we have a more solid goal number.
