Support Brianna in Her Recovery

Help Us Support Our Sister, Brianna.

As many of you know, this year has been hard for a lot of people. For Brianna, probably the hardest year of her life. A year ago she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and she had to change her entire life.

She had just moved to LA about a year ago to pursue an upper management position with European Wax Center. She had worked with them for the last 6 years and loved the work she did for them, she has always enjoyed making people feel and look their best. She was dedicated to a company that she felt truly loved and cared for her. When things finally seemed perfect in her life, she began having severe stomach pain and had to go to the hospital. She spent 4 weeks in the hospital and left with a Crohn's diagnosis. Little did we know, the diagnosis would be the first to come.

In January of 2020 Brianna began to lose feeling in her legs, the ability to walk normally, accompanied with migraines. In early February she began experiencing flu like symptoms and extremely high fevers. On March 10th she went to sleep telling her partner that she was scared she would die overnight. The next morning Lucas, her partner, woke up to find our sister unresponsive. He called the ambulance and she was carried away into the ambulance and packed with ice. She then spent the next 2 weeks in intensive care, fighting for her life, combating high fevers and experiencing seizures. Her doctors performed several MRI's during her stay in the hospitals. Her MRI is something the doctors have never seen before, 5 elongated abscesses and were throughout her brain. Because of this, she lost the mobility in her neck, arms, hands, legs and struggled to talk. (The MRI photo below is during month 3 of the hospital, after significant improvements. The white part of the brain on the MRI are parts of the brain that will never regain full ability.)

She has spent the last three months in three different hospitals. When she was finally transferred to UC Davis from Barlow Respiratory Hospital we were thrilled. It was then that she started to improve and continue to fight for her life back. She was discharged from UC Davis on June 23rd, 2020, three days after her 26th birthday. She is now on the road to recovery and needs us now more than ever. Her recovery includes moving back to Redding, CA from LA, leaving behind her home, friends, job and everything she worked so hard for. She has to participate in speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and around the clock care from family and occasional in home aids. This fund will help to support that, in addition to going towards her medical bills and standard life expenses while she is unable to work.

Brianna needs our help and support now more than ever, emotionally and financially . Im sure most of you who know her, know her kindness. Remember that one time she bought you coffee? Grabbed the bill off the table during lunch? Got your groceries? Donated to your cause? Lended you an listening ear? Supported you in friendship? Show her how much that meant now, when it means the most. Please help us. Her level of care, and our investment in her care will determine the level of her ability to gain back what she's lost. Show up.

With love and thanks,
