Britney's Journey: Child Birth to Urgent Surgery

My name is Leeshaun Ragland and I am 43 years old, I have a wife and four kids. My wife and I just had a new born baby. Recently, right before my wife's 3rd trimester, she was told she had a tumor on her Adrenal Gland. My wife, Britney, prior to being pregnant, had lost 2 babies in a year, both at first trimester. So, of course, when we found out she was pregnant, we were so happy and scared at the same time.

Heading into my wife’s 2nd-3rd trimester, she was asked to go to a special place to do tests on why she lost the 2 babies and why she kept failing her genetics test. So, there is where she found out that she had a large Mass, which was later determined to be an adrenal tumor. So that led to extra appointments and more tests. During that time, my wife got the flu one week before she was due to have a c-section. They hospitalized her and gave her treatment. Doctors noticed a drop in the baby’s heart rate, so they kept her for the full week until the c-section. During that time, the cancer treatment doctors reached out to her and told her she can’t go through full recovery because they want to remove the tumor right away.

So, we had a healthy baby boy on the 13th, and now my wife has another surgery on the 3rd of April, 2 1/2 weeks after a c-section. I have a great church family, family, and friends that have helped as much as possible. My job has been a great help and has also allowed me a month off of work. Me doing her everyday life as she is a full-time stay-at-home mother has shown me how tough and hard it is to do what she does every day and well. I have cried many nights over the pain she has been through in these last few months, not including the few years. She was a student but under her circumstances she had to drop out of school. My wife loves to help people and she always puts others before herself. We both just want to say thank you and appreciate any dollar amount helps. God bless you
