Support Brixton's Leadership Journey

My name is Brixton and I am in 7th grade at King Middle School. My school district nominated me to represent my school and community at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference because of my academic achievements and leadership ability. I have been recognized by my teachers for scholastic merit, maturity, and strength of character.

This is a big accomplishment and honor for me, and I don't want to miss it. My participation in the program depends on whether I can raise enough money to attend the conference for a week in July.

I would like to go since it will help me on my path to success in high school, college, and future career. I think this could really benefit me with whatever my profession is when I am older because I know I will need strong leadership skills. Another reason why I would like to attend this conference is because I would like to represent my school and community in the best way possible.

This conference will be in Boston, MA (Bentley University), where I will be with other middle school student nominees from around the country. I will learn about the birthplace of American Independence and the characteristics of past and present leaders. We will go to Plimoth, MA, Salem, MA and walk along the historic Freedom Trail.

My goal is to understand key concepts of leadership and how to apply them to my everyday life. I know that leaders have a responsibility to make choices that positively affect the community and I want to be one of those leaders.
