Support Brooke's Urgent Tumor Surgeries
Donation protected
I am reaching out to share the challenging journey our daughter, Brooke , is currently facing. Back in September, Brooke was enduring significant pain, particularly in her back, and experiencing unusual symptoms like fatigue, generally not feeling well, loss of appetite, weight loss, itching, and numbness. This prompted us to take her to the emergency room one night when her back pain was getting a lot worse even though she was resting and getting chiropractic and PEMF care. When they heard of her past medical history, it quickly prompted the doctor to run a series of tests that uncovered distressing news: six new progressing tumors around her knees and her right ankle. The good news is that her left ankle remains strong, and the tumors have not returned there. However, since then, we also learned that her hip dysplasia has worsened, and she has a very significant tear in her left hip. We also learned that she will be needing surgery on her upper legs to fix the “bowing” that is being caused due to her weakened bones from these issues (and to hopefully prevent future breaks). As a result, she will need two major surgeries (the first being February 20th, 2025), both requiring three doctors and 9.5 hours in surgery. One surgery will address the left hip dysplasia, the tear in her hip, the tumor removal in her left knee, and the bow in her leg, while the other will involve the right hip dysplasia surgery and tumor removal from her right ankle, her right knee, and the right leg. These will also include a bone marrow transplant/bone grafting. The urgency of these surgeries cannot be overstated. Each procedure will require the expertise of multiple specialists, and Brooke will need to spend three to four days with an epidural in the hospital for each surgery. After that, they will slowly stop the epidural and hopefully be able to send her home by day 4 or 5. This will be followed by rigorous physical and occupational therapy to aid her recovery. The timeline for her healing is extensive, potentially 4-6 months between surgeries, with full recovery taking a year. Our greatest concern until her surgery is to protect the tumor in her right ankle to prevent any complications, such as breaks from the tumor eating through the bone. Brooke’s doctor has advised against high-impact activities, which adds another layer of difficulty, especially since she is a dance teacher. She has already faced so much and continues to show remarkable resilience, but she needs our help. While we are hopeful for her recovery, the associated medical expenses are overwhelming, especially with those that insurance will not cover. We are committed to giving her the best care possible, but we need your help to make this happen. They are requiring her to pay $8,600 up front before her surgery on top of paying for her everyday expenses. Since her diagnosis, she has already accumulated quite a bit of medical bills on top of what will be owed prior to her surgery.
We are reaching out for your support—both in prayers and contributions to help cover her medical expenses, aftercare, and necessary bills ahead. Every little bit helps, and we are deeply thankful for your kindness and encouragement during this time. This fundraiser aims to alleviate the mounting medical expenses associated with her treatment. From hospital stays to therapies and travel for specialists, the costs can quickly become overwhelming. Your contributions will help ensure that Brooke receives the best care possible without the added burden of financial stress. We are incredibly grateful for your prayers, support, and any contributions you can make. Your support would mean the world to us, whether through donations or by sharing this fundraiser with your network. Each donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical costs and bring us closer to covering these expenses and providing Brooke with the care she deserves. We deeply appreciate your love, prayers, and encouragement for our sweet girl during this difficult time. She has faced so much, but her determination is inspiring. Together, we can help Brooke focus on healing and getting back to being the vibrant person she is. We’ll keep everyone updated as we learn more. Thank you for standing with us in prayer for our sweet girl.
God is good, and we believe Brooke will come out of this even stronger!
With gratitude,
