Support Bruce and Bond After Malibu Fire

Bruce Dath and Bond Johnson lost their Malibu home of 31 years on Tuesday, January 7 during the Malibu /Pacific Palisades Fire.

Bruce, a dedicated Dharma practitioner and cherished member of our Sangha, is known for his compassion, steadiness, and unwavering care for others. His partner, Bond, a gifted piano teacher and university professor, has inspired countless students—whether through piano lessons in his home studio or teaching French and literature at UCLA and Pepperdine.

Together, Bruce and Bond have built a life grounded in kindness, learning, and creativity. Tragically, their home was completely destroyed in the Malibu/Palisades fire on January 7. Among the losses were Bond’s two cherished pianos, irreplaceable books, treasured art, and all of their belongings.
