Support Bud & Cheryl Kling’s Fresh Start

Donation protected
Many people have asked how they can help, so we’ve created this.

Our parents, Bud and Cheryl Kling, like so many others, have tragically lost their home of 43 years in Pacific Palisades—and everything they held dear—in the recent LA fires. However, they didn't just live in the Palisades; they were pillars of the community, the kind of people who made the Palisades so special.

Our dad, Bud, worked at Palisades High School since 1977, dedicating his career to teaching and coaching. As a Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame tennis coach, he led both the boys' and girls' teams to an astounding 52 City Section titles. Throughout the years, he has mentored countless students, athletes, and community members. Even in retirement, he taught private tennis lessons in the Palisades. He also was one of the top international collectors and distributors of Olympic Games & Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia. His entire collection, mini - museum, and inventory was destroyed.

Our mom, Cheryl, swam at the YMCA / Pali High pool every week. She has devoted her time as an activity/recreation consultant in skilled nursing facilities for over 40 years. She loves her work, but is nearing her retirement years.

Our home was more than the things inside of it. It was where they raised us and built the foundation of our family's life. Even when we moved out, it was a gathering place during holidays; we could always return, knowing we'd be welcomed at a moment's notice. Our family is devastated, but our parents are also overwhelmed by the support of the many people who have reached out and asked how they can help. It has helped their spirits remain strong as they navigate this crisis.

To assist them as they begin this arduous process, we’ve created this GoFundMe campaign. The funds raised will go directly to helping them get back on their feet and begin to heal. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this link with others. Every donation, every act of kindness, is a reminder that they are not alone.

Thank you.
