Support Buffer Zone Campaigns Around the UK!
Donation protected
Sister Supporter is a grass roots organisation formed in Ealing, West London, made up of local residents who have been campaigning for the protection of people accessing the local Marie Stopes clinic on Mattock Lane since 2015.
In April 2018, Ealing Council passed the UK's first ever 'Safe Zone' as a direct result of our campaign and petition for a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) outside of the clinic.
There was an anti-choice 'vigil' there for over 23 years with 'pavement cousellors' that stop women at the gate, handing them rosaries, medically inaccurate leaflets, calling them 'mum' and 'murderer' and many other distressing behaviours. Many clinic users reported being traumatised, upset, harassed and intimidated. We believe that people have the right to access a legal healthcare service without having to face this and without having to compromise their privacy and safety.
Unfortunately, Ealing is not the only clinic affected, and after successfully supporting buffer zones in Manchester and Richmond, we need your help to take this campaign nationwide. We are working with several councils and groups to bring in similar action, and are also campaigning for the government to introduce a national solution.
We are entirely self-funded, so donations will help us fight for nationwide buffer zones. Any money given goes towards materials for protests and meetings, logistical costs, training our volunteers, the upkeep of our website and email etc. Thank you!
