Support Burn Victim Jim Ransom

On January 29, 2018 Jim “ Grampy” Ransom was doing one of his favorite past times, creating art by wood burning. By unexpected equipment malfunction Jim was electrocuted and nearly died. We are uncertain how long he was attached to electrical current, but it was a consinderable length of time. As he was alone at the time, he layed helpless and unconscious on the floor for what experts estimate was nearly an hour.
When he regained consciousness his hands and upper body were so badly burned he could only after multiple attempts dial “911” using his nose and mouth. He was air lifted from the lakes Region in NH to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Jim is currently undergoing multiple surgeries and will most likely have both hands amputated due to the extensive burn trauma. The staff at Brigham and Women’s are incredible, however Jim is facing a long to road to recovery. For his work Jim is a long time builder and heavy equipment operator who will likely never again be able to perform these tasks and make a living in this way.
Your generous donation will help in two ways. Jim is facing extensive medical expenses. As a self employed contractor, Jim was without medical coverage at the time of the accident. Also, he will need assistance to maintain his bills, he has a mortgage and daily expenses he will not be able to meet.
At this time family does not have a clear picture of what Jim is facing, other than that it will be a very long road. He faces multiple surgeries, long rehabilitation and uncertainty about his future. You donatons, sharing this post, and your thoughts and prayers are very appreciated.
We will provide updates as we learn more .
