Support Byron's Dream of Modeling
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Byron Phillip Lyons.
I have started this Go Fund Me for a special reason. I am planning on moving to Brooklyn, New York to help me achieve a very big goal of mine. Some would call it a dream of a lifetime. I have always been told since a young age that I should be modeling, or on TV; Furthermore, I have always wanted to do some type of entertainment because truly, I live to make people smile. I have felt nothing but encouragement from family and friends once I decided that it is time to put myself first and chase this dream I have had for a long time now. Even if I end up modeling for Kohls or Target, I will be so proud of myself for achieving a goal I once thought could never be a reality that I would experience in this life. So, I told myself, hey, its pride month. What a great time to ask my community and friends to support a local gay in helping make my dreams my reality.
Before I ask you to donate money to me, I would like to recognize some nonprofit organizations that you can donate to show your support this pride month or even year-round. I have struggled with depression for as long as I can remember, and that is why I would like to recognize the Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is an American nonprofit organization founded in 1998. Focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth, they offer a toll-free telephone number where confidential assistance is provided by trained counselors. Hey, coming out of the closet is hard enough. So, please consider donating to the it Gets Better Project. It Gets Better is an Internet-based 5013 nonprofit with a mission to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the globe.
Anything helps if you do consider donating to the nonprofits above. If you don’t have the money to donate, you can also donate your time to your local organizations like the human rights campaign. I am almost 99% sure that they have a office in D.C. If you do choose to donate to me and help me, make my dream a reality, I would be forever thankful. I am not the best at asking for support when I need it, so this is me doing just that. This dream of mine will not come easy. I have done a lot to prepare myself to rise to the challenge of chasing my dream. What have I done to work toward this dream of mine, you ask? I have been working two jobs since February of 2023 to save up enough money to be able to afford an apartment for myself for a year in Brooklyn. I have pushed my body to the extreme by working 55 to 60 hours a week since October of last year. I have mentally prepared my mind to be able to deal with the stresses of change, since this is one of the biggest changes that I will experience in my life. I have saved up enough to cover almost a year of rent which is a big accomplishment that I am so proud of myself for achieving. I have done everything that I could possibly do to set myself up for success, except one thing. Create a Go Fund Me to help cover the expenses for all the things that I will need when it comes time to move into my new place.
If you are unable to support financially, trust me, I understand. I will be creating a list of items of furniture that I do not yet have for my move. I am planning on touring apartments in Brooklyn the week of the 8th of July. I should most likely know where I am moving by the end of July. At that point, I will have more of an idea of what I will need to help make my apartment feel more like home. if you are getting rid of furniture and would like to donate it to me, please email me. Once again, I truly appreciate you all taking a moment to read this. I really do hope some of you all will donate to some of the organizations above to help support LGBQIA+ youth. If you can donate to me as well, just know you are helping me get that much closer to making my dreams my reality, and for that I will be forever thankful.
Much love, XOXO
