Support Caleb Roof Fight for Recovery

About 30 hours ago, we experienced every parents worst nightmare and found that Caleb had fallen through the ice in the pond and we were unable to get to him. Almost three hours in the ice later, with the help of several cities worth

of different teams, they recovered, and started work on our sweet boy.

It has been a roller coaster of expecting the worst. He has people across the whole state pausing and checking for updates, and care

already given extending across more than three counties. The doctors last night and today at Geisinger Medical Center performed nothing short of a miracle and deserve more gratitude than I could ever hope to express. The outpouring of community assistance is insane and honestly overwhelming.

Without sharing all the details, here's what you need to know. Caleb is showing some signs of cognitive function and is still with us, but we have a long road ahead.

In celebrating the small things ❤️

We talked a lot about sharing this, but if it keeps the hopes coming, it’s worth it.

We watched the first real extremity movement we got as of yesterday. It is a big milestone for a number of reasons, but mostly it was visually reassuring that something is still happening in reaction to stimuli. His little brain is working to some degree. Lots of questions are still on hold as we take this journey a little at a time, but you can even hear in the video that we have such a large team celebrating those little bits with us. I think the whole floor heard us cheering him on.

The location of the hospital drive where we get on and off our transport is the end of 34th street. Embracing our Christmas miracle here and finding joy in this season has been a challenge thus far, but it gets a little easier and the hope grows with each passing day. Keep hoping with us, keep it growing.
