In Loving Memory of Calvin Kagahe: Honoring a Legend and Spreading Love

Dear friends, family, and special community,

I, Peace Murielle Gikundiro (Calvin's Musical Career Manager) together with Calvin's Aunt Lea Murekatete gather with a thankful heart for all the love, kindness, and help that you've given to Calvin's family during this very tough time. Your kind support has given strength to his grieving family, and we will always be thankful for that.

As many of you know, on the night of September 17, 2023, Calvin's physical journey came to an untimely end in Ottawa. Even though he's not with us physically anymore, his spirit will always be with us, surrounded by the love of the people he touched.

Calvin was an amazing musician, and his talent was something very special. Through his music, he connected people from different places and backgrounds. His music spread love and touched hearts deeply. Those lucky enough to meet Calvin felt his kindness, which left a lasting impression.

While it's really hard to say goodbye to Calvin, we find comfort knowing he's found peace and his soul is in a better place. His passing has left us all in shock, showing how big the loss is. But we can't fully understand how much pain his family is going through.

Because of this, we kindly ask for your help to make sure Calvin is laid to rest with the respect and honor he deserves. This GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with the expenses associated with the funeral, most notably the transportation of his remains to his beloved homeland. It is his mother's fervent wish that Calvin find his final rest in the land of his birth, surrounded by the embrace of family.

Let's all come together as a community and support Calvin's mother in making this heartfelt wish come true. Together, we can say a fitting goodbye to a legend whose impact will be felt for a long time.
