Support Cam and Shannon's Recovery from Helene

Donation protected

As you know, Western North Carolina has forever been changed by Hurricane Helene, the devastation and heartbreak here is unmeasurable. Jenny to the Rescue has always been a small, family owned moving company here in the mountains. There are four movers on our team and one of our own, Cameron Bryant and his wife Shannon, were directly affected by the storm. I graciously ask for a donation, of any amount, to help Cam and Shannon rebuild their home. Here is their story...

For almost 15 years, Cam and Shannon resided in the Bee Tree neighborhood of Swannonoa. On the morning of Friday, September 27th, they got up and got ready for work as usual. From that moment on, their lives were forever changed. The rain was heavy and their yard was full of water by 7:30am. Fortunately, they had parked 2 of their cars at their family's house on higher ground. In a matter of a few hours, the water was approaching their home and electricity and phone went out. It was at that point the Bee Tree Reservoir Dam was released and the Swannanoa River reached an all time high, breaking the record of 1791.

Cameron, Shannon and their three dogs evacuated in waist-deep water to their vehicles on higher ground. From there, they watched their home shift 7 feet from the foundation. In a matter of minutes, their outbuildings, home gym, dog fencing, chicken coops and Cam's Silverado all started disappearing as they were washed away in the Swannanoa River. At this point, they were trapped within their neighborhood because all bridges were destroyed. They spent the next two nights in their vehicles until they could evacuate.

Homeowners Insurance and FEMA only cover so much. Cameron and Shannon lost everything. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly to the Bryants to rebuild.

We thank God that Cameron and Shannon are alive, there are still so many people unaccounted for in Swannanoa and in western North Carolina. We ask for prayers for the Bryant family.

With Gratitude and Hope,
