Support Camp Sovereignty: Keep the Sacred Fire Burning
Donation protected
Tales of the Olive Trees is fundraising for Camp Sovereignty. The funds will go to Uncle Robbie at Camp Sovereignty to help with the camp's expenses to sustain the encampment.
On Invasion Day 2024, Uncle Robbie Thorpe of the Krauatungalung people re-established Camp Sovereignty on the grounds of the so-called "King’s Domain". The Sacred Fire of Camp Sovereignty honours the ancestors who lay buried there, as well as hundreds of thousands of people lost across the continent.
In 2006 the Sacred Fire was established in Naarm (Melbourne) after a journey through Yorta Yorta lands including a ceremony with members of the Wiradjuri, Wamba Wamba, Barapa Barapa, Gunnai/Kurnai and Yorta Yorta Nations to bring the fire across the Dhungala (Murray River).
All represented Nations signed a statement in support of ending the destruction of peoples, lands and waters and demanding a Treaty negotiation process to be entered into between the First Nations peoples and the crown. First Nations peoples and supporters attended the lighting of the sacred fire and ceremony.
