Support Canada's Next World Record Holder

Canada, get ready for history! The True North True Strength 2024 Open is coming to Fergus, Ontario, on Sunday, August 25, 2024! It's more than a competition; it's a unique opportunity.

The USAWA, founded in 1987, honours old-time weightlifters, preserving the history of "odd lifting" inspired by legends like Eugen Sandow and Louis Cyr. With over 200 recognized lifts and 63,000 records, the USAWA brings this historic event to Canada for the first time!

Open to all ages and backgrounds, it's a chance to experience a different kind of weightlifting, a true test of strength and skill. Opportunities include attempting world records, trying specialized equipment, and teaming up with a partner for certain lifts.

To make this event unforgettable, we need your support! Our funding goal is $5,500, covering essential costs like travel, accommodations, officials, St. John's Ambulance, participant items, and refreshments.

Why support the True North True Strength 2024 Open?

Opportunity #1: Witness Canada's first-ever IAWA or USAWA-sanctioned weightlifting competition on Canadian soil!

Opportunity #2: Break away from the ordinary! We offer over 200 unique and challenging lifts – a chance to become a world record holder. With 20 bodyweight divisions and 15 age groups, that's over 63,000 chances for someone to etch their name in history!

Opportunity #3: Seize the chance to try something new! Test your courage, curiosity, and desire to be Canada's next world record holder!

Extra Mile: In the spirit of community and giving back, we've committed that any additional funds raised above our target goal of $5,500 will be donated to the "100 Women Who Care - Centre Wellington" group. Together, let's not only make the True North True Strength 2024 Open an event to remember but also contribute to a cause that matters! Support us on GoFundMe, share this message, and let's create a legacy together! Together, we are True North, True Strength!
