Support Cantrells' Fight for Asher's Life
Donation protected
Trent and Madison Cantrell are a family dear to my heart and many others. They have two children, Rosie, who is 2 years old, and Asher, who is 4 months old. Asher has spent the last month in the hospital fighting for his life. He has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disease - SMARD1. This is a type of spinal muscular atrophy that results from irreversible deterioration of alpha motor neurons of the spinal cord. The way the doctors explained it is this is like ALS, but for babies. They are most likely the only family in OK with this diagnosis.
Right now there is no known cure, but there are clinical trials happening in Columbus, OH at NationWide Children's Hospital that they are fighting and praying for Asher to be a part of. If they are approved for this trial, they will be traveling to Columbus, OH and staying for as long as needed.
As they have finally found a diagnosis Trent and Madison know they have no other choice than to trust God with Ashers life. They are walking in obedience to His will and will fight tooth and nail to help their baby receive the care he desperately needs. They know God is faithful and He loves their baby boy. In Trents words "Life is not fair, but God is still good. I'm planting my roots in that."
Madison and Trent are currently unable to work as they are spending every moment in the hospital with their baby boy. Any amount donated will go towards travel expenses, medical expenses, food, and family expenses.
Many have been reaching out and asking how they can help/donate to the Cantrell family. We wanted to provide a way for people to donate.
If you feel led to donate, know your donation will not go unnoticed and Trent and Madison are thankful for your willingness to play a part in fighting for Asher's life with them.
