Support Capt. Jack’s Comeback Tour (Stroke Recovery)
Donation protected
My father has always selflessly given his love, time, and resources to his family, coworkers, and community. As a veteran healthcare professional and Director of Nursing, he takes pride in supporting others. Now, it’s our turn to support him.
On November 13th, he was admitted to the hospital with TIA symptoms and an 80% blockage in his carotid artery. One week later, while undergoing a carotid endarterectomy, he suffered a severe stroke with devastating effects. He spent 11 days in ICU and 8 more in the hospital. He was then transferred to Brooks Rehab in Jacksonville, where he has made progress but still faces a long road to recovery.
The first 3-6 months after a stroke are critical for recovery, and we are doing everything we can to ensure he gets the best care possible. However, the lost wages, medical expenses, rehab, lodging, food, and necessary home modifications are more than we anticipated.
Jack has always been a strong, independent person and the rock of our family. While he has made great strides, he needs time and resources to recover fully. We are asking for your support to help cover some of these costs so he can solely focus on recovery at the best possible place for him, which right now is Brooks in Jacksonville. Any donation or sharing of this page would mean the world to us. We know my dad will continue to work hard and achieve what others might see as impossible.
Thank you for helping us help him.
