Support Cara's Journey to the National Invention Convention

Hi, this fundraiser is to help Cara, and her two teammates, take their invention for people in wheelchairs to the U.S. National Invention Convention June 5th-7th, 2024 at the Henry Ford Museum just outside of Detroit, Michigan. Together they will pitch the invention to companies, corporations, and judges in a bid for first place in the medical category. They first became finalists when they won first place for this category in Tennessee. Cara’s design inspiration comes from living with her younger sister who has complex medical needs.

This once-in-a-lifetime trip will cost $3,100. We are meeting this challenge by: driving 9 hours as a family to save on five airfare tickets; we will not rent a van equipped for a wheelchair since we will have our own; we found an Airbnb to accommodate the medical needs and disabilities; and my mother is paying her way to serve as caregiving support. This way Cara also gets to have both of her sisters attend. But I would like to cover her $375 registration fee.

The Franklin Rotary just gave $350 for Cara’s registration fee! We appreciate any gift, no matter the amount, to send the message to Cara that she (her gifts, talents and ideas) are seen and have so much potential to make this world a better place for all peoples. Any additional funds will go towards helping her teammates make it to Nationals as well. Thank you for considering her, and she looks forward to giving you a fun report when she returns!
