Support Carie's Road To Recovery

Donation protected
Friends, family, our loyal and supportive community and anyone else who’s been touched by our spunky little Carie Taylor… We need a little help from you and yours!

Earlier this month on 10/03 Carie started showing signs of a stroke while out supporting her son Jayden at his pop-up event. I ran her through a short series of tests and was almost positive that’s what was happening. Her husband Jeremy rushed her to Twin Cities, where they confirmed that our worst fears were in fact, correct. Carie was having what the doctors called a Hemorrhagic Stroke, a severe brain bleed caused by a ruptured blood vessel due to incredibly high blood pressure. The doctors made the decision to rush her by ambulance down to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara to be sure she received the very best care available to her. There she underwent testing to rule out a suspected aneurysm and possible surgery. If you know anything about Carie, you know that she fought her little heart out the entire time. She beat every odd, overcame every expected obstacle and was showing signs of recovery almost immediately. They ruled out the aneurysm, but made the decision to keep her sedated to give her brain time to heal. In true Carie fashion, she started to show more and more signs of being ready to come out of it, so the doctors backed off her sedatives to see if she’d have the strength to pull out of it on her own, and to all of our relief, she did just that!

Once Carie woke up, it became clear to the medical staff that she was facing some deficits that she would need to work extremely hard to overcome. She was released from Cottage on the 14th and taken by ambulance back up north to a physical rehabilitation facility in Arroyo Grande. She’s expected to be here for approximately 30 days while she works to regain function in the entirety of the left side of her body.

Carie is a fighter in every sense of the word, but this is going to be an incredibly challenging and long road back to full recovery. This unforeseen hardship is creating obstacle after obstacle for her family in regards to planning for her everyday care once she is released. Her children and her husband Jeremy have been by her side since the 4th and they all find themselves torn between working and being present to support our girl. Carie is the cornerstone for her family, they’re struggling daily in her absence to balance normality and also being unwavering pillars for her through this incredibly trying time.

Carie is a giver and a caretaker in every sense of the words. Whether she’s coached your kids, helped out with a loan, planned a party, babysat for you, worked an event with you or simply just been your friend, I know she’s done it all because it mattered to her. So, in her time of need, no donation is too small. Whatever you may be able to help out with is more than appreciated. It’s hard to ask for help, but it’s a no brainer when it’s for someone this deserving.

Her family has more gratitude for this community than we’ll ever begin to be able to explain! Thank you in advance!
