Carlos & Delfa's Flood Recovery Aftermath of HURRICANE DEBBY

Donation protected
Dear community,

On August 4, 2024, Sarasota, FL, USA was inundated with torrential rains from Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby, which in turn caused terrible flooding, the likes of which Sarasota has not seen in over 50 years. One particularly hard hit neighborhood is Bellevue Terrace, which is where my grandparents, Delfa and Carlos, live. They are 87 and 90 years old, and have lived in their home since 1970. With flood waters rising, they were rescued by john boat at 5:00 am the morning of August 5, 2024 with their two dogs and one bird. Unfortunately their other bird drowned. Water levels rose so quickly and high that their home was flooded by 4-5 feet of water. Their house and car are completely destroyed. A lifetime of possessions and memories are gone - they have to start over.

To know Carlos and Delfa is to know they have never asked anyone for anything. They are always there to help and support others, and now it is our turn to support them. We are requesting for donations to help with temporary housing, clean-up efforts and rebuilding process.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated as they work to pick up the pieces and start over. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful for your generosity.
