Support Carlos Through This Tough Time

Hi friends! If anyone in Roanoke remembers the restaurant in downtown called Arzu, you might remember a sweet Brazilian man named Carlos waiting your table and serenading you on his classical guitar. That very same Carlos needs our help! A little over two years ago, his home on Bent Mountain was struck by a school bus, practically knocking it off the foundation and, over time, causing it to be an unsafe place to live. He is enduring the long and arduous process of working with Roanoke County's insurance company to cover the damages and fix his home, but in the meantime, he is struggling to make ends meet. He's not been able to stay there, and the instability that has caused is creating numerous problems for him. He is elderly, and work options for him are few, and because of other circumstances, he has not been able to get social security benefits or food stamps.

In addition, his mother has recently passed away, and, in his time of mourning, he is also tasked with settling her estate.

He has numerous appointments and various expenses, including food, gas, car insurance, phone bill, legal fees, and rent, and he is completely overwhelmed with everything that is required of him right now.

Please consider pitching in just a little to help him get through until he gets a little relief from his insurance settlement.
