Support Carmen's Family in Funeral Costs

Hi everyone. My Tia Carmen recently passed away on Mother's Day. She was one of 4 sisters on my mom side. My mom would travel across Tucson to visit and bring her homecooked meals and wash her clothes. I understand times are always difficult for everyone but any type generosity would go a long way. Below, is something my mom wrote on behalf of her sister.

" Our beloved Carmen R. Gutierrez recently passed away on May 12, 2024. Carmen was a kind and wonderful sister, who touched the lives of those around her. Carmen had a huge heart, loved to talk and was easy to forgive. Always willing to check and ask how the family was doing, even though she couldn't physically be there to give a warm hug.

Through her years, Carmen went through difficult times. A bad car accident, where she became paralyzed made things very challenging for not only her but her partner of 30 years. He was her care giver and would help her out tremendously. Unfortunately, he passed away of Covid in 2020. After his passing, that is she went into a home care facility.

All of us were devastated and were not prepared for the high cost of the funeral expenses, especially during this difficult time. We are reaching out to the community for any help to cover the cost of Carmen's funeral. We need to raise $7,000 in order to afford the funeral services.

We want to give Carmen the memorial she deserves. To honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. Thank you "
