Support Carol Lovely beyond cancer treatment

Our mother is a giver. Though as she navigates treatment for breast cancer, we want to enable everyone a chance to give back when she needs us most.
Really, she just wants to be able to ride her bike to the beach, swim in the ocean, take care of the turtles, and travel to visit her recent grandchildren.
Regardless if you know her as 'Nurse Lovely', Carol Hunt, or a Lovely Mermaid, we all know that she is a deeply passionate, strong willed woman who has enriched all of our lives. She values experiences and relationships much more than possessions and honestly doesn't like the idea of a fundraiser. Though while she has medicare, there are many burdens not covered by insurance: co-pays, out of network surgical specialists, and even a more comprehensive PET scan (now denied by insurance 3x times and counting). Furthermore, her body is much different than a few weeks ago. She no longer fits into her swimsuit and likely most of her wardrobe.
So far, Carol has already undergone a double mastectomy. And now, additional surgery is scheduled for early March as more cancer was detected in an axillary lymph node. Chemotherapy will probably start in April along with Targeted Antibody Therapy, and then likely Radiation. The best news of all is that her caregivers are confident this breast cancer is CURABLE. And once her incisions are healed, she plans to return to swimming in the sea (even with her port in place).
Please join us in overwhelming this woman we all love with as much encouragement as we can muster.
All of these funds will go directly to Carol to help with medical expenses, local travel for treatments (the only wheels she owns are on a bike!), better fitting clothes, and travel to visit her grandchildren.
And when we emerge from this pandemic she really wants to see you in person!
