Hello, everyone. I'm Nadine and my other half is Nick. We are reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. Nick is a 22-year retired Navy Veteran now working in aviation, and I am a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of nursing experience who is now a stay at home mom to 6 beautiful children. With Nick’s Jamaican roots and my mixed heritage of Jamaican and Grenadian (specifically Carriacou) descent, the Caribbean holds a special place in our hearts. We understand firsthand the importance of urgent response in the face of a major disaster, and today we need your help to save the beautiful island of Carriacou, Grenada.

Carriacou, recently voted Paradise Beach the Best Caribbean Beach by USA Today, is known for its serene beauty and peaceful community. But Hurricane Beryl, a Category 4 storm, has turned this paradise into a nightmare. With 90-95% of homes destroyed, the island is in a state of emergency. Entire families are now homeless, with many living without access to clean water, food, or medical care. The storm has flattened homes, and some residents are trapped in the debris, waiting for rescue.

While immediate aid is crucial, there are critical needs that often go overlooked in the wake of such a disaster:

Clean Drinking Water: Freshwater sources have been contaminated by seawater, sewage, and debris. Some families have been without clean water for up to five days, especially those in remote hill areas.

Medical Supplies and Services: With damaged medical facilities, treating injuries and chronic illnesses is nearly impossible. Immediate medical care is desperately needed.

Sanitation and Hygiene: Lack of proper sanitation facilities increases the risk of disease outbreaks, especially in crowded shelters.

The trauma of the hurricane has left many, particularly children and the elderly, in need of psychological support.

The island is largely without communication, making coordination of aid efforts extremely difficult. Power outages have also disrupted essential services.

We've heard heartbreaking stories from our family and friends in Carriacou. Many homes have been flattened, leaving people to seek refuge wherever they can find it. Some have been without clean drinking water for days, as they live in remote areas that are hard to reach. The island’s communication lines are only now being slowly restored, leaving many isolated and desperate for help. Our loved ones are sorting through the rubble of their lives, searching for missing family members, and fighting to find standing homes amidst the chaos.

Our Campaign:

As we strive to provide aid to Carriacou, we realize that the task is far too great for us to handle alone. We urgently need your help. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Our Plan:

Immediate Aid: Sending essential supplies like clean water, food, and medical kits to Carriacou.

Long-Term Rebuilding: Assisting with the rebuilding of homes, schools, and medical facilities.

On-the-Ground Support: We plan to travel to Carriacou in the coming months to provide hands-on assistance and ensure that aid reaches those most in need.
