Hi a few of Casey’s friends want to help her and take some stress off of her through this health journey. She is a great Mom and needs to get better for her baby girl!
In 2019, Casey began having GI issues such as diarrhea. To the point that she lost 30 pounds. She had an upper and lower endoscope. She was told it was IBS. She continued to see Drs as her symptoms worsened and in 2020, had her gallbladder removed because of stones. As you can imagine, this did not help. A CT scan at the time showed: inflammation in the mesentery, which is the organ that holds all of your intestines, along with liver cysts and diverticulosis. Casey visited her second GI doctor and was told to get a therapist. In 2022, a new GI doctor done an upper and lower scope. This one diagnosed her with unknown cause chronic pancreatitis. While she had a diagnosis, she didn’t know why and was offered nothing but yearly follow up appointments. With chronic pancreatitis, comes chronic pain, diet toleration that change from day to day, nausea, fever, vomiting, diarrhea and a bunch of other problems. She went to Baylor in Dallas looking for help but was met with only a confirmation of chronic pancreatitis diagnosis. Since 2022, Casey’s had numerous ER visits and hospital stays, along with Dr after Dr. Nothing has been addressed, only band-aided. From the beginning until now Casey has developed other issues. Issues she has present day are chronic pancreatitis, chronic pain, mesentery panniculitis (inflammation) high cholesterol and triglycerides, swollen liver with cysts, pancreatic cysts, diabetes, enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes, diverticular disease, clots in the pelvis, fibrous tissue on the lungs and swelling. Her whole body is swollen. Most recently, she was in the hospital for 3 days where all she received was fluids. Nothing was addressed. She was told “you have alot of problems but none we can fix”. As you can imagine, this has taken a toll on her both physically and mentally. Her spirit is broken. She struggles with the lack of help or anyone even trying to help as she’s begging. She’s had to start working from home but we’re not sure how much longer she can even do that and she loves her job. She doesn’t get out unless it’s absolutely necessary. With all of this being said Casey and her family are financially drained. Casey did get a referral to Texas Medical Center, which houses MD Anderson. She was told to expect to stay 3-5 days there. She is hopeful that the visit will come in around 2 weeks as she was told during the phone call. She’s also praying to get some kind of help there.
