Support Cassie Busdeker's Liver Transplant Journey
Donation protected
Hello my name is Alex Busdeker. I am the daughter of Cassie Busdeker and Brant Busdeker. I also have a 17 year old sister, Tory Busdeker, who is currently a junior at Bridgeport high school.
My mom has always been involved in the community of Bridgeport as she runs the CVB and connect Bridgeport. Before she ran the CVB she worked at WDTV for 20 years as their promotions director. Not only is she involved in the community, but she is Bridgeport alumni of the class of 1990 and a WVU graduate.
For the past year and a half she has been battling cirrhosis of the liver caused by a rare disease Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. As we have gone through this journey as a family, we are finally in the last steps of getting her a new liver. This hasn’t been easy as we have been in and out of the hospital for that year and a half consistently to keep her in the best health possible. Now, we are working closely with the liver team at UPMC to get her better. With all the travel and lost wages from all of us doing our part we ask for any donations to help my beloved mom who is loved by many. Many of you who have had the opportunity to meet her know she’s one of a kind and has a heart of gold. We appreciate all the love and support we have received and continue to receive from the community.
Much Love,
Alex
